MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

Introduction

De Vere Diamonds Limited (Trading as De Vere Diamonds) is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chains. Luxury must always be matched with integrity, and we take our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards seriously.

Although our turnover is currently below the threshold for mandatory reporting under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily publish this statement to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and ethical business practices.

Our Business

De Vere Diamonds Limited (Trading as De Vere Diamonds) is a UK-based jeweller specialising in fine natural diamond jewellery. Our diamonds are fully traceable and sourced only from responsible suppliers who meet strict ethical, social, and environmental standards.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include:

  • Diamond suppliers providing ethically sourced, conflict-free, fully traceable stones.

  • Jewellery workshops producing our pieces, primarily located in the UK and trusted international partners.

  • Precious metals suppliers, including Fairmined and Fairtrade gold providers.

  • Supporting services such as packaging, logistics, and marketing.

We carry out due diligence to ensure all our partners share our commitment to ethical practices.

Policies and Controls

We have established the following measures to prevent modern slavery in our operations and supply chain:

  • Supplier Code of Conduct requiring compliance with labour, human rights, and ethical standards.

  • KYC (Know Your Counterparty) checks and enhanced supplier due diligence.

  • Contractual clauses prohibiting forced labour, child labour, and human trafficking.

  • Whistleblowing channels for staff, suppliers, and stakeholders to report concerns confidentially.

Risk Assessment

We recognise that risks of forced labour and exploitation may exist in parts of the global diamond and precious metals industries. To mitigate these risks, we:

  • Source only from suppliers with demonstrable traceability and ethical certifications.

  • Reject diamonds of Russian origin in line with UK and G7 sanctions.

  • Prioritise suppliers engaged in community benefit, land restoration, and fair working conditions.

Training and Awareness

All staff involved in procurement and supplier relationships receive training on:

  • The Modern Slavery Act.

  • Responsible sourcing requirements.

  • Identifying red flags in supply chains.

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to:

  • Regularly reviewing our policies and due diligence processes.

  • Strengthening supplier partnerships that support human rights and social good.

  • Aligning our practices with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
