Our Commitments
1. Ethical Origins
We only work with suppliers who provide fully traceable, ethically sourced natural diamonds.
All diamonds comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) and go beyond its minimum requirements.
We reject diamonds of Russian origin and any diamond linked to conflict, human rights abuses, or corruption.
2. Human Rights & Labour Standards
We support the principles of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO Core Labour Conventions.
Our suppliers must guarantee:
No forced, bonded, or child labour
Safe and fair working conditions
Freedom from discrimination and harassment
Fair wages and working hours
3. Community & Social Good
We prioritise partnerships that empower mining communities, especially in Africa and Canada, where many of our diamonds originate.
We work with organisations such as GemFair and Diamonds for Peace to support artisanal miners and ensure fair market access.
Where possible, we contribute to projects that restore mined land for agricultural use, helping to rebuild and sustain local livelihoods.
4. Environmental Stewardship
We are committed to minimising environmental impact across our supply chain.
Our suppliers must:
Respect land, water, and biodiversity
Reduce energy use and carbon emissions
Manage waste responsibly
Contribute to the restoration of ecosystems where mining has taken place
De Vere Diamonds Limited (Trading as De Vere Diamonds) is also part of Tree-Nation, where we are planting trees to offset our carbon footprint and help restore habitats affected by climate change.
5. Due Diligence & Traceability
We apply the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals.
Every supplier we work with undergoes Know Your Counterparty (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) checks.
We require documentation to verify origin, traceability, and compliance with sanctions and industry standards.
All gold used in our jewellery is Fairmined or Fairtrade certified where available, and sourced with the same strict due diligence as our diamonds.
6. Monitoring & Accountability
We expect our suppliers to sign and adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct.
We reserve the right to audit supply chains and terminate relationships with any supplier who cannot meet our standards.
We maintain a process for reporting and investigating grievances in our supply chain.
This policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
