WHY WE EXIST
A diamond can outlast every setting it is ever given. The story behind it rarely survives.
It can mark a proposal, a marriage, the birth of a child, an anniversary, or a moment known only to two people.
Years later, it may pass to a daughter, a son, a grandchild or someone not yet born. It may be worn as a ring, reset as a pendant, or kept safely for a generation.
The diamond may survive all of it.
But the story behind it can disappear surprisingly quickly.
That thought sits at the heart of De Vere Diamonds.
We believe that if a diamond is chosen to represent something as important as love, commitment or family, there should be as little uncertainty around it as possible.
You should know what you are buying.
You should know what your diamond is.
You should know where it came from.
And one day, the person who inherits it should be able to know why it mattered.
We believe a symbol of love should carry no doubt.
THE IDEA BEGAN WITH SOMETHING VERY PERSONAL
Many years ago, I came across pieces of jewellery that had belonged to my mother.
They were not important because of their financial value.
They were important because they belonged to her.
They represented another time, another life, and people who were no longer there to explain the stories behind them.
Later in my own life, I lost virtually everything I owned.
Possessions can disappear. Photographs can disappear. Letters can disappear. The small things we assume will always be there sometimes aren’t.
That experience changed the way I thought about jewellery.
A diamond has already existed for a billion years.
A setting can be remade many times over.
But the human story attached to it can be lost within a generation.
Looking back, I began to see the jewellery differently. The setting might change over time, but the diamond could remain, carrying the story from one generation to the next.
I began to wonder whether we could preserve both.
WHAT TWENTY YEARS TAUGHT ME
For more than twenty years, I have worked across luxury, diamonds and jewellery, alongside internationally recognised brands including Swarovski, Lacoste, Apple and Samsung, and with private clients around the world.
Those years taught me that the finest things do not earn trust through claims. They earn it through detail, consistency and proof.
Diamonds deserve nothing less.
NOTHING TRUER THAN TRUTH
The De Vere family motto is:

For De Vere Diamonds, those words became a principle.
The natural diamond industry asks people to place a great deal of trust in what they are being told.
Where did the diamond come from?
Is it natural?

We believe those questions deserve proper answers.
That is why De Vere Diamonds is built around natural diamonds, independent certification, responsible sourcing, documented provenance and verification.
Not because documentation is romantic.
But because trust is.
There should never have to be a question mark behind something intended to represent one of the most important moments of someone’s life.

Provenance answered one part of the question.
But there was another.
Even if we could preserve the story of the diamond, how could we preserve the story of the people?

Things that may mean very little to the rest of the world, but everything to one family.
The Legacy Vault™ is bound to the diamond, not to the piece that holds it. If the diamond is reset one day, as a pendant, a ring or something not yet imagined, its story goes with it.
Because one day someone may hold that diamond and wonder:
Who chose this?
Who wore it?
Why did it matter?

THE STORY SHOULD OUTLIVE THE MOMENT
We do not choose a diamond, or the jewellery that holds it simply for the day it is presented.
We think about the day many years later when somebody else opens the box.
Perhaps a daughter.
Perhaps a grandson.
Perhaps someone the original owner never had the chance to meet.
They may inherit the diamond.
But we would like them to inherit the story as well.
That is what I hope De Vere Diamonds can contribute.
Not simply beautiful jewellery.
Not simply traceable diamonds.
But diamonds whose meaning remains attached to them long after the original moment has passed.
Because luxury, to me, is not simply owning something valuable.
It is knowing why it is valuable to you.
