DIAMONDS FOR PEACE
BEAUTY SHOULD NEVER COST SOMEONE ELSE.
More than a million people around the world make their living digging for diamonds by hand. Too many of them work in danger, for very little.
Diamonds for Peace is a non-profit working to change that, starting in Liberia.
WHAT THEY DO
They teach miners to work more safely and to protect the land around them.
They connect miners directly with honest buyers, so more of the value stays with the people who found the diamond.
They help families build lives beyond mining, through literacy, training and opportunities for women.
WHY WE SUPPORT THEM
Our own diamonds come from carefully regulated sources. But we believe everyone who buys a diamond has a stake in how the whole industry treats people.
A DIAMOND SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING GOOD, ALL THE WAY BACK.
