GETTING STARTED
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It begins with a relaxed conversation about the moment, the person and what matters to you. We then present three to five natural diamonds chosen for you. Once you have chosen, its Legacy Vault™ is opened, and if you would like it set, we design the ring around it through sketches and CAD before it is made by hand.
DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I WANT?
Not at all. Many clients begin with nothing more than a feeling or a photograph. Guiding you is our job, from diamond shape and size to the style of setting.
CAN YOU DESIGN A RING AROUND MY PARTNER’S TASTE IF I’M UNSURE WHAT THEY LIKE?
Yes. We will look at the jewellery they already wear, their style, their lifestyle and even the proportions of their hands. Many of our commissions are surprises.

THE DIAMOND
WHY DO YOU START WITH THE DIAMOND?
Because the diamond is the heirloom. A setting may be remade over generations, but the diamond remains. We choose the diamond first and design everything else around it.
HOW WILL I CHOOSE MY DIAMOND?
Rather than asking you to search thousands of stones, we search the market for you and present three to five exceptional natural diamonds, each filmed and shown with its GIA grading report and origin, side by side. We aim to send your selection within 5 working days of our first conversation.
ARE YOUR DIAMONDS NATURAL, RESPONSIBLY SOURCED AND TRACEABLE?
Yes. We work only with natural diamonds. Every diamond is independently graded by the GIA, traced to its country of origin with a Diamond Origin Report, and handled only by RJC-certified partners.
CAN YOU SOURCE A DIAMOND FROM A SPECIFIC COUNTRY?
Yes. We can source from Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, South Africa, Angola and Canada, with full traceability.
DO YOU OFFER LABORATORY-GROWN DIAMONDS?
No. De Vere Diamonds works only with natural diamonds, because an heirloom should carry a history that began long before it was chosen.
DO I HAVE TO SET THE DIAMOND STRAIGHT AWAY?
No. Your diamond can be presented unset in an heirloom box, complete as it is. Set it now, later, or never. The offer to set it never expires.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A DIAMOND I WANT TO USE?
We will assess it first to make sure it is suitable, then design a new setting around it. Please note that the Legacy Vault™ is created only for diamonds chosen through De Vere, as every Vault begins with a diamond we have verified ourselves.
DESIGN AND MAKING
DO YOU HAVE SIGNATURE DESIGNS?
Yes. Our signature designs are a starting point, individually refined around your diamond’s shape, your choice of metal, the proportions and any personal details.
HOW WILL I SEE THE DESIGN BEFORE IT IS MADE?
Through sketches and CAD renderings, refined together until every detail is right. Nothing is made until you approve it.
WHO MAKES THE RING, AND IN WHAT METALS?
Every setting is made by hand by our RJC-certified workshop partners, in Fairtrade or Fairmined certified yellow gold, white gold or platinum, and hallmarked.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Typically 4–8 weeks from choosing your diamond to completion. If you have a proposal date in mind, tell us at the start and we will plan around it.
CAN MY RING BE PART OF A MATCHING SET?
Yes. We can create a matching wedding band, pendant or earrings, now or in the future.
THE LEGACY VAULT™
WHAT IS THE LEGACY VAULT?
A private digital archive that belongs to your diamond. It holds the diamond’s certification and provenance, the design records of its setting, and the photographs, videos, voice notes and letters that give it meaning.
IS IT INCLUDED?
Yes. Every diamond chosen through De Vere receives its own Legacy Vault™.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LEGACY VAULT™ IF THE RING IS REMODELLED?
The Legacy Vault™ belongs to the diamond, not the setting, so it goes with the diamond. For three-stone rings it follows the centre diamond. We recommend any future resetting is done through De Vere Diamonds so the record continues unbroken.
WHO CAN SEE IT?
Only you, and the people you choose to share it with. It is private by design and never used for marketing.
PRICE, PAYMENT AND DELIVERY
WHAT BUDGETS DO YOU WORK WITH?
Bespoke commissions begin at £3,500, and we work with a wide range of budgets above that. We will always show you the most beautiful diamonds available within yours.
HOW DO I PAY?
A 50% deposit secures your diamond, and the balance is due before delivery. You can pay securely by card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express) or by bank transfer.
CAN I RETURN MY RING?
Every diamond is laser-inscribed with its Legacy Vault identity and every setting is made for you, so, as with any personalised jewellery, commissions cannot be returned once inscribed or once production has begun. Full details are in our Terms of Sale.
HOW IS IT DELIVERED?
Fully insured, by specialist secure carriers. UK VAT is not charged on orders delivered outside the United Kingdom.
CLIENTS OUTSIDE THE UK
DO YOU WORK WITH CLIENTS OUTSIDE THE UK?
Yes, with clients in India, the UAE and across the world. Consultations are by video at a time that suits you, and the Legacy Vault™ can be opened from anywhere.
CAN I ORDER FROM INDIA?
Yes. Orders are delivered fully insured, with Indian import duties and taxes included, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
AFTERCARE
WHAT AFTERCARE DO YOU OFFER?
We are here for the life of your diamond, for cleaning, checking, resizing and future resetting. Clients in India can use our partners there for cleaning and resizing.
