Our promise: proof, not promises.

At De Vere Diamonds, everything begins with a natural diamond and with being able to show where it came from. We believe a diamond should never be bought at the expense of the people who found it or the place it came from. From the diamonds we source to the jewellery we commission, our decisions are guided by Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.

We know that words alone are not enough. We back what we say with action, with evidence and with partners we are prepared to name.

A natural diamond is mined, and mining has an impact. We do not claim otherwise. Our commitment is to buy only from sources that work to reduce that impact and that return real benefit to the places diamonds come from.

Environmental responsibility

Traceable diamonds. Every principal diamond we supply is traced to its country of origin. We work only with suppliers who can prove origin and who meet strict environmental standards.
Restoring nature. Through Tree-Nation we fund the De Vere Diamonds Forest, planting trees and restoring habitats around the world, including areas of Canada damaged by wildfire. The trees we have planted are projected to capture more CO₂ than our company emits.
Regeneration. We favour sources that return worked-out mining land to nature, or to farmland that can feed and sustain local communities. We support organisations, such as Diamonds for Peace, that work towards the same end.
Packaging. We minimise plastic, use recyclable and FSC-certified materials from certified packaging partners, and keep looking for ways to reduce waste.
Our own footprint. We are a small company with no factories and no shops. Our website is hosted by Fasthosts, whose data centres run on 100% renewable electricity, use biofuel in place of diesel in their generators, and are certified to ISO 50001 for energy management.

Social responsibility

Good diamonds, not blood diamonds. We categorically reject conflict diamonds. We buy from sources where diamond revenues pay for schools, healthcare and infrastructure.
Supporting communities. We give donations and financial support to organisations that work with mining communities. We support the work of Diamonds for Peace and Diamonds Do Good with artisanal miners, their families and the wider community.
Opportunities for women. We favour partners who promote women in mining, in jewellery design and in leadership.
Fair working standards. We expect our suppliers to uphold fair wages, safe working conditions and respect for human rights, and we require them to sign our Supply Chain Code of Conduct.
Our clients. We give honest advice and never rush a decision. What a client keeps in a Legacy Vault™ is private and is never used for marketing.

Governance and transparency

Strict due diligence. Every supplier goes through rigorous KYC, AML and sanctions checks before we buy.
OECD guidance. We align our sourcing with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains.
Certified partners. We work only with suppliers and workshop partners certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. Our workshop partners are also registered or licensed with Fairtrade and Fairmined. We are applying for RJC membership ourselves.
Hallmarking and certification. Every setting complies with UK hallmarking law, and every principal diamond is independently graded by the GIA.
No greenwashing. We disclose facts, not empty claims, and we invite sceptics to examine the evidence. Our Environmental & Ethical Claims Policy sets the rules.
Integrity. We do not tolerate bribery or corruption. We protect personal information under UK data protection law. We use AI tools only under human supervision.
Accountability. The Board approves these policies and reviews them every year. Complaints are logged, answered and learned from.
