HOW IT WORKS

HOW DOES IT START?

With a conversation. Tell us who it’s for, what it marks and roughly what you’d like to spend. That’s all we need.

DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I WANT?

Not at all. Some people arrive with a clear picture. Others just know the moment and the person. Both are perfect starting points.

DO YOU SELL READY-MADE JEWELLERY?

No. There’s no shop and no basket. Every De Vere Diamonds piece begins with a diamond chosen for one person.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE DIAMOND?

You don’t have to search. We listen, then find three to five carefully selected natural diamonds for your story and your budget. You see each one on film, side by side, with its grading report and origin. Then you choose.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE SET INTO JEWELLERY?

No. You can have it set now, set it later, or keep it exactly as it is. An unset diamond is presented in an heirloom box with its certificates and its Legacy Vault™. The offer to set it stays open for as long as you own it.

WHAT CAN YOU MAKE?

Engagement rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, or something entirely your own. Every setting is designed around your diamond. You approve every detail, through sketches and 3D designs, before anything is made.

WHAT IS FIRST DAWN™?

A natural diamond chosen to mark a birth. It is presented unset, with its own Legacy Vault™. It can remain unset, or be set into a piece worn by a mother or grandmother during the early years, before being passed on when the time is right.

CAN I DO ALL THIS WITHOUT VISITING?

Yes. Many clients never come to London. Consultations, diamond viewings and design approvals can all happen by video call.

CAN I SPEAK TO SOMEONE BEFORE I FILL IN THE FORM?

Absolutely. speak to us via WhatsApp, email, telephone or video.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It depends on finding the right diamond and on the design. We’ll give you a clear timescale before you commit. If there’s a date that matters, a proposal or a birthday, tell us early.

THE DIAMOND

ARE ALL YOUR DIAMONDS NATURAL?

Yes. We never use laboratory-grown diamonds or simulants such as moissanite or cubic zirconia.

WHY NATURAL?

A natural diamond formed more than a billion years ago, and no two share the same history. A laboratory-grown diamond is made in weeks. Both are real diamonds, but only one has a past. For something meant to be handed on, we think that matters.

IS EVERY DIAMOND CERTIFIED?

Yes. Every diamond is independently graded by the GIA and comes with a Diamond Origin Report confirming where it came from.

HOW DO I KNOW IT’S REALLY MY DIAMOND?

Each diamond carries a microscopic laser inscription, invisible to the naked eye, that links the physical diamond to its records, so its identity can always be verified.

HOW DO I KNOW IT ISN’T A CONFLICT DIAMOND?

We only buy from known sources with documented provenance and apply standards that go beyond the Kimberley Process, including supplier due diligence, sanctions controls and responsible-sourcing requirements. We do not source Russian diamonds.

WILL IT HOLD ITS VALUE?

Natural diamonds have a long-established resale market, but values vary and we never sell diamonds as an investment. We’d rather you bought one to keep, wear and hand on.

THE LEGACY VAULT™

WHAT IS IT?

A private digital home for your diamond’s story. It holds the diamond’s certificates and origin, plus photographs, letters, voice and video messages, and the moments that follow: the proposal, the wedding, a child’s arrival.

DOES IT BELONG TO THE RING?

To the diamond. Settings change and pieces are remodelled, but the diamond and its Vault stay together, whatever it becomes and whoever owns it next.

DOES EVERY DIAMOND HAVE ONE?

Every diamond chosen through De Vere Diamonds does. We can’t open a Vault for a diamond bought elsewhere, because we can’t prove its story.

WHAT IF I WANT IT RESET IN THE FUTURE?

We recommend future resetting or remodelling is carried out through De Vere Diamonds wherever possible, so the design, craftsmanship and provenance records can be added directly to the Vault and its documented history continues unbroken.

METALS AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

WHO MAKES THE JEWELLERY?

Specialist jewellers at our RJC-certified workshop partners, working by hand. Never mass-produced.

WHAT METALS DO YOU USE?

Usually 18ct gold, in yellow, white or rose from Fairtrade, Fairmined or LBMA-certified sources. Our platinum is also sourced from responsible supply partners.

WILL IT BE HALLMARKED?

Yes. Every UK made piece is independently tested and hallmarked by the London Assay Office and carries our registered maker’s mark.

Every Indian made piece receives the BIS hallmark. An Indian made piece for a UK client will carry a De Vere Diamonds hallmark issued through the London Assay Office.

PRICE AND PAYMENT

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Bespoke jewellery commissions start from £3,500. The final price depends on the diamond, the metal and the design. We’ll talk about your budget at the very start, and you’ll know the full cost before anything is made.

First Dawn unset diamond commissions start at £1,650.

HOW DO I PAY?

A 50% deposit secures your diamond and begins the commission. The balance is due before delivery. We accept bank transfer and all major cards, including American Express. Card payments are handled securely by Stripe, and we never see or store your card details.

WILL I GET IT IN WRITING?

Yes. Before you commit, we confirm the diamond, design, price, payment terms and timescale in writing.

DELIVERY

HOW WILL IT ARRIVE?

Fully insured, by specialist secure courier. Once your piece is complete, delivery usually takes 3 to 5 days, depending on location.

DO YOU DELIVER OUTSIDE THE UK?

Yes. For export orders we don’t charge UK VAT, but your country may charge import duties and taxes. We’ll tell you exactly what applies before you commit.

DO YOU DELIVER TO INDIA?

Yes. Orders to India are delivered with all duties and taxes paid, through specialist secure couriers, so there’s nothing extra to pay on arrival. You’ll need to provide your Aadhaar or PAN details for customs.

CAN IT BE DELIVERED SOMEWHERE ELSE, OR AS A SURPRISE?

Yes, with some extra security checks. If it’s for a proposal or a surprise, tell us and we’ll plan the presentation and delivery around it.

AFTER IT’S YOURS

IS IT GUARANTEED?

Yes. We guarantee the craftsmanship of every piece for its lifetime. The guarantee doesn’t cover loss, theft, accidents or everyday wear, so we always recommend insuring your jewellery.

HOW SHOULD I LOOK AFTER IT?

Diamonds are the hardest natural material on earth, but settings and metals wear over time. We recommend a professional clean and check every year, especially for a ring worn every day. Clients in India are looked after by our partners there.

CAN I RETURN IT?

Because every diamond is chosen for you and inscribed with its own identity, diamonds and commissioned pieces can’t be returned for a change of mind. This doesn’t affect your legal rights if anything is faulty or not as described. Full terms are explained before you commit.

IS MY COMMISSION PRIVATE?

Always. We never share your story or your piece publicly without your permission. For exceptional commissions, our Private Client service offers an even higher level of discretion.

WHAT IF SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT?
