1. Diamond Origin and Traceability
All diamonds are natural: De Vere Diamonds does not sell synthetic or laboratory-grown diamonds under this brand.
No Russian origin: We do not buy, sell, or handle diamonds of Russian origin in compliance with UK, EU, U.S., and G7 sanctions.
Traceable supply chain: Every diamond is sourced only from suppliers who provide verifiable documentation of origin, supported by chain-of-custody evidence and third-party certification where available.
Auditable records: We maintain documentation for each diamond, including invoices, Kimberley Process certificates (where applicable), and supplier due-diligence forms.
2. Responsible Sourcing Standards
Kimberley Process: All rough diamonds in our supply chain are certified under the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS).
Beyond the Kimberley Process: We recognise the limitations of KPCS. De Vere Diamonds therefore requires suppliers to meet higher standards, including OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals.
No conflict diamonds: We explicitly exclude any diamond that could fund armed conflict or human rights abuses.
3. Supplier Due Diligence
KYC & AML: All suppliers undergo “Know Your Counterparty” and Anti-Money Laundering checks before approval.
Supplier Code of Conduct: Every supplier must sign and comply with our Code of Conduct covering human rights, labour standards, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
Ongoing monitoring: We carry out regular reviews of supplier compliance and reserve the right to terminate relationships if standards are not upheld.
4. Social & Environmental Responsibility
Community benefit: We prioritise sourcing from suppliers who demonstrate investment in local communities where diamonds are mined, including schools, healthcare, and land restoration.
Carbon footprint: We track and report our environmental impact, and partner with initiatives such as Tree-Nation to offset carbon emissions across our operations.
Restoration projects: Where possible, we support efforts to return mined land to agricultural or ecological use.
5. Verification & Oversight
External frameworks: Our policies align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), OECD Guidance, and World Diamond Council standards.
Independent audit readiness: Our supply chain records and due diligence processes are kept in a state that can be independently reviewed at any time.
Transparency commitment: We voluntarily publish a Section 54 Modern Slavery Transparency Statement, even though our turnover does not meet the UK statutory threshold.
